Ruby red, a white roundel and a stripe down the middle. This one was never going to sit quietly in a corner.

The SC is the 911 I keep recommending to people who actually intend to drive. Built from 1978 to 1983, three litres, and the first 911 with a fully galvanised body — which matters more in a Danish winter than anywhere else. The engines have a reputation for covering enormous distances without drama. It is the last of the impact-bumper cars and, to my eye, the best proportioned of them.

Pasha velour inside, restored, and loud enough in daylight that you will be spoken to at every second set of lights.
