The British answer, and a completely different personality.

Hand-built at Newport Pagnell through the 1970s and 80s, the AM V8 is heavy, deep-chested and utterly unlike anything from Stuttgart or Maranello. Five point three litres, a cabin trimmed by people who plainly enjoyed the job, and a noise that arrives a moment before the car does.

If the 911s in the room feel a little clinical, sit in this instead. It is a car for long distances and good hotels, and it makes almost everything else look like it is trying too hard.
